Nomination - Accounting Standars Oversight Council 


We are pleased to announce the appointment of our partner Jocelyn Patenaude, FCPA, FCA as member of the Accounting Standards Oversight Council (AcSOC) for a three-year term ending on March 31, 2021.


AcSOC serves the public interest by overseeing the activities of the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) and the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB). AcSOC provides input to the AcSB and PSAB in terms of strategic direction and priorities in the standard setting process, and ensures that the two Boards follow due process.



BCGO is proud to announce the appointment of four new partners : Maxime Charron, Simon Huot, Charles Matteau and Daniela Trif.


Maxime Charron, CPA, CA

Maxime Charron began his career in 2007 at Labelle Racicot, a firm merged with BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l. since January 2016.


With more than ten years of experience in assurance and consulting services, he has acquired over the years a solid expertise in different areas of practice such as the municipal sector, construction, manufacturing and retail.


Mr. Charron's approach is client-driven, making him truly successful. What motivates and fascinates him is the privileged relationship he develops with them. Above all, he whishes to be mindful of their needs and to meet their expectations quickly and efficiently.


Simon Huot, CPA, CA

Simon Huot is a general practitioner who has been providing assurance, tax and advisory services to his clients for over a decade.


He joined BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l. in January 2016 following the merger of Labelle Racicot. Mr. Huot provides services to private companies of all sizes in a variety of areas such as food services, manufacturing, recycling and retail. He stands out for his personalized approach and his ability to provide quality advice.


Charles Matteau, CPA, CA

Charles Matteau joined BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l. in 2009. Since his arrival, he has developed a particular expertise in the field of construction, in addition to serving a diversified clientele of small and medium businesses. He knows how to optimize the tax situation of his clients and to accompany them during government audits.


Mr. Matteau is appreciated for his sound advice and his analysis of the various types of projects presented to him. Listening to his clients, he is able to identify their needs in order to meet their expectations and build a trust Relationship.


Daniela Trif, CPA, CA

Daniela Trif started her career at Campeau Vachon Richard in 2006, and then joined BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l. in 2010 following their merger. She provides assurance, consulting and public accounting services to a variety of clients, including healthcare and dental professionals, manufacturing, IT consultants and service companies. Over the years, she developed an expertise in forensic accounting, special engagements and tax litigations.


Committed to excellence, dedicated to her clients, well known for her availability, energy and due care, she offers her clients professional, complete and customized services.

2017 CFE - A success for BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l.


BCGO wishes to acknowledge the great success of their candidates to the Common Final Examination (CFE) of CPA Canada in September 2017.


Our congratulations to Elisabeth Ahier-Houle, Catherine Boucher, Benoit Chagnon, Mariana Grigoras, Frédéric Groulx et Lina Tan! These candidates invested time and efforts during a long period of time, and now a whole realm of professional possibilities opens to them.


During the last 10 years, the results of BCGO’s candidates are impressive. 36 candidates obtained their CPA designation, for a success rate of 90%. These results put forward the efforts made by the firm to support their future CPAs.


It wouldn’t be possible to achieve this success without the commitment of our coaching team, which is really dedicated in our students’ success, by tutoring them all summer long before the CFE. BCGO would like to sincerely thank the employees Dominic Gauthier, Kevin Gauthier, Fanny Gendron, Kevin Mouchahwar, Marie-Pier Robidoux, Jean-Philippe Simon, Jean-Olivier Smith, Stéphanie Veillette, and the coordinator, Catherine Marcotte, for their contribution to the 2017 success. Congratulations to our partner Jocelyn Patenaude, who was recently awarded the title of Fellow by Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (Order).

The title of Fellow of the Order, designated by the initials FCPA, formally recognizes those members who have rendered outstanding services to the profession, or whose achievements in their careers or in the community have earned them distinction and brought honor to the profession.

Mathieu Desgagné
Mathieu Desgagnés started his career at Behna, Cormier, Gougeon, Ouellette, s.e.n.c.r.l., which has now become BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l. He provides services to a variety of clients that cover the spectrum of Québec entrepreneurship, including the construction, health, real estate, non-profit organization and professional sectors.

He is appreciated for his accessibility as well as his practical advice and the importance that he places upon helping each of his clients expand and achieve their goals.


Jean-François Paré CPA, CA

Jean-François Paré began his career at Behna, Cormier, Gougeon, Ouellette s.e.n.c.r.l., now known as BCGO s.e.n.c.r.l., in 2006. He offers certification services to a broad and diverse customer base who specialize in the manufacturing, environment, health and construction sectors. He is appreciated for his availability and his ability to quickly build relationships with his clients in order to advise and aid them in their strategic challenges.

Patrick Parent, CPA, CA

Patrick Parent joined BCGO in January 2013 and was appointed partner in January 2014. He has a broad experience from his work over the last 15 years in a medium-size accounting firm, including 5 years as a partner.


His diversified clientele comprises small and medium size enterprises from various industries such as construction, transportation, services, professionals and not-for-profit organizations.


Being client-oriented, he favors a customized service aimed at the specific needs of each client.


Patrick Simard, CPA, CA

Upon graduation, Patrick Simard joined BCGO in 2005. He built his career by specializing in audit, mostly in the manufacturing, environment and construction industries.


Patrick Simard combines timeliness and client service excellence. He practices his profession with passion and integrity. His clients especially appreciate his availability and practical advice.


Jean-Philippe Simon, CPA, CA

Jean-Philippe Simon began his career with BCGO while still completing his degree. He ranked among the top 50 candidates in Canada at the Uniform Evaluation of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2007. Since then he has developed an expertise in assurance services and has specialized in audit and special engagements. He serves a broad client base which includes various industries such as healthcare, not-for-profit organizations, retail and manufacturing.


Being involved in the marking process of the Uniform Evaluation on several occasions, Jean-Philippe Simon is actively involved in the training of young professionals and proves to be as devoted with his clients. His listening and communication skills as well as his approach allow him to effectively assist entrepreneurs in complex situations.
